Eligibility
To be eligible for a speech and debate scholarship, you must be an incoming first-year or transfer student who has been accepted to ¶À¼ÒºÚÁÏ and exhibited proficiency in speech. Prior speech and debate competition experience is not required.
The initial screening will be based on a scholarship application. If selected as a finalist, students will:
- Submit a brief (3-5 minute) recording of a performance, which can be wholly original or the reuse of something prepared for another purpose (e.g., high school speech competition, class, etc.).
- Meet on campus with the director and assistant director of speech and debate for a short interview. Virtual interview options will be available to reduce potential travel and financial burdens.
